Membership Application
The Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) is pleased to announce that the 2026 Annual Membership Application process is now open. We invite qualified candidates to submit an application for Full membership. Please note that with adoption of amended bylaws in January 2026, we have new membership categories. Applications must
be accompanied by two letters of reference from current members of CSPS. The deadline for application is May 1, 2026. The applications will be reviewed by the membership committee and presented to the Board of Directors. The Board will recommend the candidates for election at the Annual General Meeting in June.
Member Applicants who submit a completed application prior to the deadline are encouraged to join us at the CSPS annual scientific meeting in Kelowna, June 9-13, 2026. Once you application has been received, you may register for the meeting at the member fee, with one of your referees as your sponsor.

The Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) Membership Categories:
Active Members
Active Membership is open to specialists in plastic surgery practicing in Canada who are certified by: either The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, The American Board of Plastic Surgery, and/or The Collège des médecins du Québec. Additionally, Royal College-certified plastic surgeons practicing in the United States are also eligible for Active Membership.
Internationally Trained Members
Plastic surgeons practising in Canada who are not certified in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, nor the American Board of Plastic Surgery, nor the Collège des Médecins du Québec, but are certified by their country of training’s national regulatory body. They must hold an active license and be in good standing with their Canadian provincial licensing authority.
Affiliates
Plastic surgeons, practicing outside of Canada or US; certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and/or Collège des médecins du Québec, or the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Internationally Trained Affiliates
Plastic surgeons who practice plastic surgery outside of Canada or the United States. They are not certified in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Plastic Surgeons of Canada, nor the American Board of Plastic Surgery nor the Collège des médecins du Québec, but they are certified by their country of training’s national regulatory body. They are known to the membership of the CSPS (as determined by the Board of Directors) and have attended at least one (1) meeting of CSPS in person. They must be in good standing with the licensing authority of the area where they work

Resident Associate
Canadian Resident Trainee recommended by the program director.
Fellow Associate
Plastic Surgeons Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College de Medicins de Quebec and who are doing extra fellowship training in Canada.
Fellow Affiliate
Plastic Surgeon certified in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and/or the Collège des médecins du Québec, who are doing extra fellowship training in an area of plastic surgery outside of Canada.
Internationally Trained Fellow Associate
Plastic surgeons who are training in a fellowship program in Canada who are not certified in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Plastic Surgeons of Canada nor the Collège des médecins du Québec, but who are members in good standing of their country of training’s national regulatory body.
To become a Junior member, complete the application form and return it to csps_sccp@plasticsurgery.ca before the deadline.
