Established in 1982, the Educational Foundation of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) supports education, research, professional development and humanitarian initiatives that advance plastic surgery and contribute to excellence in Canadian healthcare.
The Foundation invests in the next generation of plastic surgeons, supports innovation and research, recognizes excellence, and strengthens educational opportunities for Canadian plastic surgeons and trainees.

Education & Professional Development
Annual Educational Symposium
Held each year in conjunction with the CSPS Annual Scientific Meeting, the Foundation’s Symposium takes place on Wednesday afternoon and provides an opportunity for members to explore important topics and emerging developments in plastic surgery.
Visiting Professor Grants
The Foundation supports opportunities to bring distinguished plastic surgeons and experts to Canadian institutions through its Visiting Professor Funding Program.
Canadian In-Training Examination
The Foundation provides financial support for the Annual Canadian In-Training Examination, helping to support the education and assessment of plastic surgery residents across Canada.
Research & Innovation
Clinical & Outcome Study Grant
Each year, the Foundation provides funding to support a Clinical or Outcome Study, encouraging Canadian plastic surgeons and researchers to pursue meaningful research that can contribute to improved patient care and outcomes.
Recognizing Excellence
Resident Scientific Awards
The Foundation recognizes outstanding resident research presented at the CSPS Annual Scientific Meeting through awards in categories such as basic science, clinical research, innovation and best poster presentation. View Scientific Award Winners
Supporting Humanitarian Surgery
Humanitarian Mission Support
The Foundation supports Canadian plastic surgery residents participating in surgical missions around the world, providing opportunities to contribute their skills and experience in communities where specialized surgical care is limited.
Supporting the Broader Plastic Surgery Community
The Foundation also considers requests to support organizations and initiatives that align with its educational and humanitarian mandate, including organizations such as the Ross Tilley Foundation, Operation Rainbow Canada, and the Canadian Interest Group of the American Burn Association.
