New Resident Educational Opportunity: Sawbones Course on Hand and Wrist Fracture Fixation

The Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) is pleased to introduce a new educational offering for residents at this year’s Annual Meeting: the Sawbones Course: Introduction to Internal Fixation of Hand and Wrist Fractures.

This hands-on workshop provides residents with practical experience in the evaluation and surgical management of common hand fractures encountered in plastic surgery. Using high-fidelity Sawbones models, participants will learn key principles of fracture management, fixation techniques, and intra-operative decision-making while practicing reduction and fixation using K-wires, lag screws, and mini-plates.

The course is designed to build technical skills, improve surgical confidence, and support the next generation of plastic surgeons through interactive, skills-based learning.
